Taxpayers SUPPORTS City of Oceanside Half-Cent Sales Tax Measure

The Association SUPPORTS the City of Oceanside as the City provided significant evidence of need and has demonstrated strong fiscal stewardship as well as alignment with the Association’s best practices for citizen oversight and accountability. The City confirmed this measure will dedicate a San Diego County Taxpayers Association representative to the Citizens Oversight Committee, committed to a binding Maintenance-of-Effort clause and to creating a new named fund where revenue from this measure will flow for easy public trackability, and provided performance metrics which will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of funding at improving taxpayer outcomes over the course of the tax.
