Taxpayers SUPPORTS City of Oceanside Half-Cent Sales Tax Measure

The San Diego County Taxpayers Association supports the City of Oceanside measure as the City provided significant evidence of need and has demonstrated strong fiscal stewardship, as well as alignment with SD Taxpayers’ best practices for citizen oversight and accountability. The Oceanside measure has a 10-year sunset clause, will dedicate a Taxpayers Association representative to its Citizens Oversight Committee, contains a binding Maintenance-of-Effort clause, will create a new fund where the public can easily track how the new revenue is being spent, and will provide performance metrics that will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of funding.
